Dog Walker in Six Forks and North Raleigh: Bent Tree, Muirfield and North Ridge

Happy brown dog with a green leash looking up from spring grass

Some dogs get their exercise from short loops past the same mailboxes. In 27615, many dogs live close to a creek trail instead, and the walk they get can be quite different.

Hooman on Demand walks dogs for households in Bent Tree, Muirfield, Stonebridge and North Ridge, and for others along Six Forks Road north of the Beltline. Our walkers are interviewed and third-party background checked. This page is the closer look at 27615. The wider region is on our North Raleigh dog walking page.

Three trails and a park, for you and your dog

Raleigh's Parks department has pages for each of these. Use them for time with your dog. Since the City wants a permit for any commercial use of its parks, we haven't built any walker route around them, and your dog's route is chosen together at the meet & greet. Leashed dogs may visit City parks, and waste goes in the bin. On greenways, the leash can be no longer than 6 feet.

Honeycutt Park. Thirty acres at 1032 Clear Creek Farm Road, open dawn to dusk. The City lists a picnic shelter, a sand volleyball court, a basketball court, a baseball field, playgrounds, and restrooms that stay open year-round. The Honeycutt Greenway skirts the park.

Honeycutt Creek Greenway. This 3.8-mile trail follows Honeycutt Creek from Raven Ridge Road to Strickland Road. Some of it is paved and some is not. Read the City's notes before you go:

  • The stretch between Raven Ridge Road and Durant Road is unpaved and for foot traffic only.
  • That stretch runs over game lands managed by the NC Wildlife Resources Commission. The City says seasonal bow hunting takes place there and that orange vests are provided for those times.
  • The trail meets Honeycutt Park, the East Fork Mine Creek Greenway and the Mountains-to-Sea Trail at the south shore of Falls Lake.

East Fork Mine Creek Greenway. A paved 2.5-mile trail that runs upstream from Mine Creek to the north side of Strickland Road. The City lists parking at 8000 Bent Creek Drive and 8115 Strickland Road. Heading south, it joins the Mine Creek Greenway toward Shelley Lake Park.

Why a greenway-heavy neighborhood changes how you plan the week

Dogs here may have a long trail close by, which means your options go beyond a spin around the block. A long out-and-back can wear a young dog out in a way a quick lap never will. On the other hand, a creek trail may not suit a dog who pulls, startles at bikes, or doesn't enjoy crowds.

We'd rather match the walk to your dog than to a map. At the meet & greet, we'll ask how your dog behaves on a leash, what they do around other dogs, and what a good day looks like. Then we plan a route around that.

Rainy days are worth a conversation too. Tell us what you'd like us to do when the weather turns and we'll note it on your dog's profile.

Walking into a single-family home

If your home has a garage, a keypad code is often the simplest option. A lockbox works well too, as do smart locks and a key you pass to us in person.

Give us your alarm instructions at the meet & greet. Your vet's details stay on file. Let us know where the leash hangs, where the waste bags live, and whether the dog should be crated or free when we arrive.

Choosing the right length

Dog A good starting point
Puppy or senior 15 or 20 minutes
Average adult dog 30 minutes
High-energy or large dog 60 minutes

Walks are on leash with a single household per visit. We track each one by GPS and send photos and a report card afterward.

Dog walking in 27615: common questions

Do you cover 27615?

ZIP 27615 is on our service areas page. Enter your address on the sign-up form and we'll confirm coverage.

Do you walk dogs on the Honeycutt Creek Greenway?

We plan the route at your meet & greet. Because Raleigh asks commercial users to get a permit for its parks, no specific park or trail is promised. If you'd like to try the greenway yourself, note the hunting and foot-traffic-only rules on the unpaved stretch.

My dog is nervous around other dogs. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Walks are one household at a time, so your dog isn't mixed with other clients' dogs. Share what you know at the meet & greet.

How early can a visit start?

Visits begin at 7 AM and run until 9 PM, every day.

I'm closer to North Hills. Which page should I read?
