Dog Walker in North Hills and Midtown, Raleigh

If you live in a North Hills or Midtown apartment or condo, your dog's day probably follows your work schedule. A quick potty break in the morning, then a long stretch until you're home.
Hooman on Demand sends a background-checked walker into the middle of that stretch. Before anyone visits your home, they've been interviewed and third-party background checked. We schedule visits in North Hills, Midtown, Country Club Hills, Drewry Hills and along Six Forks Road, from 7 AM to 9 PM, seven days a week. What follows is the neighborhood-level detail. For the wider area, see our page on dog walking in North Raleigh.
What your dog can and can't do at North Hills
North Hills is private property, and its own policies page says pets must be on a leash. Failing to clean up after your pet may result in a fine.
The policies page does not say whether dogs may go inside any particular shop, restaurant or office. That's up to each business, so ask before you walk in.
North Hills also has an off-leash dog park at 100 St. Albans Dr. Visit Raleigh describes it as a 9,500-square-foot off-leash park in the Park District, open to the public. Check the posted hours and rules at the gate. Our walks are always on leash, so the dog park makes a good outing for you and your dog on a day off.
Where to take your dog near North Hills
These places have published rules, whether you're heading out yourself or deciding what kind of walk suits your dog. We plan routes with you at the meet & greet.
North Hills Park. The City of Raleigh lists this 32-acre park at 100 Chowan Circle, open 6 AM to 10 PM daily, with pickleball courts, a youth baseball field, playgrounds and a picnic shelter. The City's park page doesn't mention dogs. Citywide, the City says leashed dogs are welcome, so keep yours on a leash and watch for posted signs.
Mine Creek Greenway. A 4.2-mile trail, part paved and part unpaved, open dawn to dusk. The City says it connects to the Shelley Lake Park loop, to the Crabtree Creek Greenway and to the East Fork Mine Creek Greenway, and it lists parking along North Hills Drive.
Shelley Lake Park. At 1400 W Millbrook Rd, the park has a 2.1-mile paved loop. City greenway rules apply: a leash of 6 feet or less, waste picked up, dawn to dusk.
Crabtree Creek Greenway and Lassiter Mill. The City says this paved trail connects to North Hills Park. Plan around a closure, though. The City has announced that a section near Lassiter Mill will close starting late November 2026 for streambank work and trail improvements, and its alert lists completion dates in 2028. Check the City's alert before you go.
Millbrook Exchange Dog Park. On the City's dog park list at 1905 Spring Forest Road, open 7 AM to 10 PM daily, with separate areas for small and large dogs. See Raleigh's dog parks for the full list and rules.
Apartment and condo access
Apartments and condos are a big part of life in North Hills and Midtown, and we're set up for them. We can get in the way that's easiest for you: a lockbox, a keyless entry code, or your leasing office. We follow your alarm instructions, and your vet's details stay on file.
At your free meet & greet, tell us about anything that affects the visit: gate or garage steps, which elevator to use, where the leash and bags live, and how your dog likes to head out. Then we'll plan the route together.
After every visit you get photos and a report card. Each walk is GPS-tracked, and your dog is walked alone on leash with no other household along.
30 minutes or 60?
A 30-minute walk fits a typical workday break. It covers a potty stop, a loop around the block and some sniffing.
Choose 60 minutes for a high-energy dog, or when you want time for a longer out-and-back along a greenway. A 15- or 20-minute visit works well for seniors, puppies and quick potty breaks.

North Hills and Midtown dog walking FAQs

Policies are set by each business. North Hills' own policies page says pets must be leashed but doesn't list which businesses allow dogs inside, so ask the venue before you go in.
Is there an off-leash dog park near North Hills?
Yes. Visit Raleigh lists the North Hills Dog Park at 100 St. Albans Dr. as an off-leash park open to the public. Our walks are on leash, so off-leash play is something to do with your dog yourself.
Do you walk dogs in 27609 and Midtown?
ZIP 27609 is on our service areas page. Enter your address on the sign-up form and we'll confirm coverage.
